USA also practiced to catch the ball in pace and cooperation in both attack play and defence. They have tried to find gates in the defenders play and to become better in fast breaks.

China practiced a lot of attack play and break-throughs to form an overall offensive. Like the US they have also worked with the fast breaks.

England as well has focused a lot on passing the ball in pace and the players have made good improvements. Further on they have practiced in fast breaks and in the end a two goal play.

Tomorrow there will be some friendly games for both the girls (Partillebohallen) and the boys (Ugglum).

30/6-2011 Practises
Today the english team has practiced a lot of the attack play, including individual start-ups and the cooperation between the nine- meter players and the pivot.

The Scots and the team from Singapore continued to play in defence. They have also added the cooperation between the players, both in the attack play and the defence.

The US team today practiced both attack play and how to defend. They have as well worked with individual technique.

As you could read yesterday our friends from China spent this day in Copenhagen, Denmark.

29/6-2011 Today’s practices
China: In the morning Lisette and Mikael focused on individual defense and in the afternoon they put it together into a defence for the whole team.

USA: Today´s practice with Henrik was individual attack play, consisting of break-throughs and changing of direction. The afternoon was free and the team choosed to go in to Gothenburg for a ride with the sightseeing-boat ”Paddan”.

Scotland and Singapore: Henrik and Erik started the practice with a rather tough coordination warming. They then moved on to break-through technique. Henrik was very satisfied with participants development during the exercise. In the afternoon the Singapore team went in to Gothenburg, while the Scots went shoping in Allum.

England: Today´s exercise with Ulf was attack-play. He put great importance into individual shooting in different ways and from different positions. Like Henrik, Ulf meant that the players developed their technique throughout the practice.

There are so many practice occations that each team has to have 2 halfdays off for their own activities. The chinese team has instead chosen to take a whole day off and go visiting the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen.

Purpose

The purpose of this project is to give undeveloped, but serious trying handball nations a real chance to get a platform for handball. We want to create a lifelong interest for sport and handball in particular. We also want to give leaders and players a basic education of handball in both theory and practice. The players shall also be inspired, not only in their role as players, but also to be a future leader inspiring schools and teachers/adults/leaders to set up clubs, starting competitions and clinics.

IHF has chosen 25 countries that Partille Cup will invite for a longer stay in Gothenburg. The goal for 2010 is to have 12 teams, 6 boys and 6 girls teams, with their leaders for a 14 days stay to be educated in handball. Partille Cup will arrange accommodation, clinics, training and matches for these teams.

IHF believes that this is a chance to move some countries to higher levels of sport and it will also be a chance for them, short after a week of hard training, to practise and to play in the world’s biggest and most famous handball tournament – Partille Cup. Here leaders and players get the best of opportunities to get connections and friends with the same interest.

Main objective

To get 20 enthusiasts of each country to return home, to teach and recruit new players, leaders and referees, to set up clubs, to start tournaments in the schools. In many countries football and basket are natural sports and everybody knows the playing rules. It can be difficult to be a pioneer of handball when there are no traditions. Therefore it’s needed for a group of enthusiasts to come and live with handball, to feel the rhythm, to know the rules better and to see the sport of a higher level.

Underlying objectives

- To be developed as players and to lead selections, regional and national teams
- To get new handball friends who can inspire and who can be lifelong friends
- To see how a tournament can be arranged and bring home parts of it when organizing similar with clubs or in schools
