This summer’s edition of Partille Cup is cancelled

This summer’s edition of Partille Cup has been canceled and will not take place as planned on June 29 – July 4. This was officially decided by the event’s board on Monday, April 20th.

Partille Cup has made an overall assessment of the situation affected by the spread of covid-19 and the restrictions that have been put in place due the ongoing pandemic. We have previously been clear about our own and our participating team’s strong desire to carry out the tournament, even in a smaller format than usual. We have also been clear that we always put health and safety first in our work. With the information we receive about the pandemic, we do not see that the situation can be guaranteed to have changed enough by early July for us to be able to organize the event.

It is very sad that Partille Cup cannot take place as planned. We know that thousands of young people from all over the world look forward to the event every year. We understand and share the disappointment many of our participating teams feel about the event being canceled. Still, we want you to know that Partille Cup will come back, and we look forward to being able to invite the world to Gothenburg again.

Any participation fees paid by teams will be refunded. Teams that have paid registration fees have the option of either getting a refund or using it for registration for next year’s event – thus guaranteeing them a place. Teams must contact Partille Cup before May 31st, after which the registration fee will not be refunded.
