How Heden Is Being Built - Welcome!

We can’t wait for you to arrive. Right now, we’re working full steam ahead on construction: temporary bleachers, handball courts, and the event area. On Monday, a renovated and completed Heden Center, the heart of the Partille World Cup, will be ready to welcome you.

This year, a record number of teams – 1,400 from 36 countries – will have the experience of a lifetime next week. To make that happen, a year of preparations has gone into it.

When the big arrival day arrives on Monday, things will be in full swing at Heden Center with Mini Handball for the youngest participants. That’s also when the European Open Championship kicks off, which this year also serves as a qualifier for the World Championship for 16-year-old girls.

Heden Center is the heart of the tournament. This year, Heden has also been renovated. And the Partille World Cup is important to the city of Gothenburg. That’s why the city has chosen to hold the opening ceremony for the new Heden in conjunction with the Mini Handball awards ceremony.

Now we can’t wait for you to arrive. Who are “we,” you ask? Well, an entire organization with approximately 1,200 staff members, 320 referees, partners, and the entire tourism industry – including hotels, restaurants, shops, museums, beaches, and Liseberg. All the things that make the Partille World Cup so unique. A major city that welcomes handball players from every continent to come together in competition and friendship, in victory and defeat. Together. Right in the heart of the city.

Don't have a World Cup Pass – a ticket that gives you lots of perks while you're there? You can buy one at the Information Desk at Heden Center. Check out all the offers here.
