Last chance – apply for the elite groups at Partille World Cup 2026
The application for the elite groups is closing soon – make sure to submit your application for Partille World Cup 2026 by 15 April. – We are already seeing strong interest from participating teams, says Martin Laanemets, Tournament Manager for Partille World Cup.
The elite groups are available in the G16, B16, G18 and B18 categories, bringing together some of the world’s top youth handball teams.
– There has been a long-standing request to introduce elite groups, which we did for the first time last year. It raises the level of competition already in the group stage, meaning the very best teams face more strong opponents. It was very well received last year, and we have already had many requests from teams wanting to take part in these groups, says Martin Laanemets.
All teams in the elite groups progress to the A playoffs, except for the team finishing last in the group, which moves on to the B playoffs.
– This creates a good balance while still keeping the competitive edge in the older age categories. The risks for participating teams are lower, while the potential benefits are greater. Both we and the teams coming here believe in the concept, and last year showed that we are on the right track, says Martin Laanemets.
To apply, the team must first register for the tournament as usual. After that, an application should be sent to [email protected] no later than 15 April, together with a short explanation of why your team should be selected for the elite group. All applications are reviewed by the Partille World Cup competition committee, which ensures that the teams meet the required level.
