The previous record was set in 2019, when the tournament celebrated its 50th anniversary. At that time, 1,379 teams participated.
– This shows just how important the tournament is. We’re breaking records despite all the turmoil in the world, uncertainty surrounding travel, and the economic downturn. It also feels especially important in times like these for young people to grow by experiencing other cultures and making friends from other countries, says Fredrik Andersson.
