Erik Bang inducted to the Hall of Fame
Erik Bang is a legend in Strandby-Elling and Danish youth handball. Tonight he was inducted into the Partille Cup Hall of Fame.
This evening, Erik Bang, who turns 75 this year, was elected to the Partille Cup Hall of Fame.
Erik Bang has been hall manager in the hall where Strandby-Elling belongs for 35 years. He has been a coach since the early 80s, when he also participated in the Partille Cup for the first time. In other words, he has participated in the Partille Cup for over 40 years. Erik has brought an almost countless number of teams here. Now he is also inducted into the Partille Cup Hall of Fame.
Now he also gets the opportunity to follow four of his six grandchildren, who participate as players, and one of his children, who is a coach, plus his daughter-in-law. During all the years as a coach, he has helped nurture many talented players who have since represented the Danish national team. The most talented was Lotte Kiærskou, who has two Olympic gold medals to her credit. Erik Bang is very proper, and usually says: "We don't have to be the club that behaves best - but we always have to be in the top three in terms of behavior." He is simply a coach who leads by example.
