HSG Nordwest wants to develop the sport in Switzerland
HSG Nordwest from Switzerland wants handball to become bigger as a sport in their home country.
The B18 team beat Täby Centrum HK from Sweden with 16 goals to 15 during Wednesday. The players enjoy the time in Gothenburg to the fullest.
The players in HSG Nordwest were very happy when we met the team at Heden.
– It’s my first time here and I’m very excited about the Partille Cup. I’m very much enjoying the tournament. It’s many good teams here. It's a lot of fun to meet them and to get stronger as a team. We have a very nice time, says the player Mak Ruhotina.
Handball is far from being the national sport in Switzerland.
– Handball isn’t very big in Switzerland. Football is much bigger and also tennis. But it’s growing. Many people are interested in handball and hopefully it will be as big as football one day, says the 17-year-old.
It's his first time in Gothenburg but it’s certainly not his last visit.
– The city is very beautiful. It’s something completely different to the cities in Switzerland. You have many older buildings and the cities here are also much bigger than in Switzerland. Sometimes it’s confusing to know which bus or tram you’re going to take, but it’s okey.
They are from Basel.
– Like Roger Federer, Mak Ruhotina says with a big smile.
Welcome to the Partille Cup, our Swiss friends!
