Team Cabo from Cape Verde learned a lot in Gothenburg

Team Cabo's B16 team came all the way from Cape Verde to participate in Partille World Cup this year.

And they don’t regret their choice for a second.
– It’s a very good experience, says the leader Admilson Manuel Goncalves Monteiro about Partille World Cup 2024.

It took almost 24 hours to get from Cape Verde to Gothenburg but was well worth the trip according to the players and coaches in the B16 team.
– It’s good to be here. We’re here to gain new experiences and we’re here to have fun, says Admilson Manuel Goncalves Monteiro when we meet the team after a match at Heden.

They opened strong with a victory with a margin of twelve goals in the opening match against the German side BTB Aachen 2. Then they lost six straight matches. But many of them were close ones that could have gone either way.
– It’s a good experience. We face great opponents. In the end, everything is new to us and we will learn. The boys learn a lot of new things by traveling from Cape Verde and experience new things in handball here at Partille World Cup, says the leader.

He’s impressed about the organisation behind the biggest youth handball tournament in the world and he thinks that they have been treated in a really good way during their visit in Gothenburg.
– It’s a beautiful and good country with beautiful people. We feel good here. We want to share things with other people, says Admilson Manuel Goncalves Monteiro.
They want to keep developing themself as a team and individually as handball players.
– It’s all about that we want to keep getting better and improve every single day, says the Cape Verdean.
