The final preparations before Partille Cup begins now
He is injured - but still helps his team.
Tomorrow many teams will play their first matches of Partille Cup! Colegio Etapa from Brazil arrived in Sweden yesterday, but the preparations have been going on much longer than that.
- We have trained for this for six months, says Pedro Minoru, a Colegio Etapa player.
Tomorrow, Colegio Etapa will play their first match in Partille Cup against Hörning Håndbold at Heden Arena 1 at 10:55 in the B18 category. Even though the Colegio Etapa-player Pedro Minoru cannot participate in Partille Cup himself, due to a foot injury, he is still helping his team in the preparations before the tournament.
- I helped my team train this morning, for example I brought the material and stuff like that. Obviously I wanted to play but it is fun to help in some kind of way, he says.
Is there something you have specifically worked on before the tournament?
- We have trained a lot to improve our physique. Many of our players are not so tall, so it is important for us to be strong instead, Pedro says.
Does your team have any pre-game rituals?
- We usually listen to music in the locker room before the game. The music often remove the nerves and the mood gets very good in the group. So that is probably my favorite pre-game ritual, he says.
Even though Pedro will not be able to play himself he is still determined to make as much as possible out of the Partille Cup adventure.
- I am not watching any games today because of the pain in my foot, but tomorrow the pain hopefully will have decreased so I can watch a few games, he says and continues:
- Then I will obviously support my team and watch their games.
