An international match will be played before the EOC final
Between the bronze match and the final in our very own national team tournament European Open Championship, Sweden's senior national team on the women's side will face the Netherlands in Scandinavium.
The match starts at 18.05 on Friday, July 5th.
– This will be a very good event that will raise the tournament further. There couldn't be a better end to a week in Gothenburg that was completely filled with handball-obsessed youngsters and parents, says Partille World Cup's general secretary Fredrik Andersson.
The international match and the subsequent EOC final will be played the day before the other Partille World Cup finals which will be decided at a packed Heden on Saturday. At the time of the international match, Scandinavium has 6 200 seats reserved for Partille Cup Pass holders. In other words, the players in the tournament can see national team stars such as Jamina Roberts, Linn Blohm and Johanna Bundsen up close at no extra cost. First come first served, no pre-bookings can be made. The only requirement is that you show your Partille Cup Pass at the entrance in Scandinavium. You don't want to miss this opportunity!
The friendly match against the Netherlands, whose national team is lead by the Swedish coach Per Johansson, is part of the Swedish women's national team's preparations for the Olympics in Paris at the end of July.
– I played the tournament throughout my upbringing and have fantastic memories from Partille World Cup. It will be extra fun to be able to come back but now in the blue and yellow shirt and with the wonderful experiences from the World Championship in Scandinavium fresh in my mind. We have never felt such support as we did in Scandinavium, so it will be great to come back, play in front of thousands of spectators and relive Partille World Cup, says the team captain Jamina Roberts in a press release.
Sweden's Olympic squad will be presented on Tuesday, June 4th.
