Full stands as Önnereds HK were looking for revenge
Finalen lives up to expectations straight away. Both teams give everything in every duel and produce an intense and well-played first half where neither side manages to take full control of the match.
It is a focused and efficient Önnered who find their rhythm in the closing minutes before half-time. With two quick goals, they take a small lead and go into the break ahead 8–7, with revenge still very much alive.
– We had a very poor start and Önnered came out with a lot of power that was hard to handle, but we kept believing in ourselves, waited for our moment and knew we would take our chances, says MVP Emil Kvistgaard Bak.
In the second half, the match remains tight and intense. The teams take turns pushing forward and neither side manages to pull away. It is a close and swinging game where Önnereds HK 1 and GOG go goal for goal, with very little separating them.
– At half-time we said we needed to trust our plan and keep fighting, Emil Kvistgaard Bak continues.
In the closing minutes, GOG find the decisive goal and win the final 16–15 in a dramatic finish to the B18 final.
– We have quite a long journey home, so we’ll celebrate when we get back, he concludes.
