Coach Wang back at Partille World Cup
Coach Wang, who coaches the only G15 team from Chinese Taipei, is back at the Partille World Cup for the first time in several years.
Nearly 8,900 km from Gothenburg, we find the Yangming Junior High School team, who have come to town this week for the Partille World Cup. The team made their way from Taipei to Gothenburg thanks to their coach, who participated in the tournament herself many years ago.
On the sidelines, not only do we see the five substitutes for Chinese Taipei G15, but also their three coaches and the team manager. The playing girls wear white uniforms with matching shoes and socks. The goalkeeper is dressed in purple and performs excellently throughout the match.
Wang Su Ming is one of the coaches standing on the sidelines during the match. She used to play handball herself, and it's clear she is focused on the girls' game. When asked how Yangming Junior High School ended up participating in this year's Partille World Cup, Coach Wang gives us an exciting answer.
“I came here many years ago to enjoy the tournament and play myself, and I really wanted to come back. Back then, there were about 600-700 teams participating, but now there are around 1,500, I think, so I’m very excited about this.”
Coach Wang also highlights the girls' enthusiasm and joy at being here as one of the few teams from Asia.
“The team is very excited to be here and play, and this time I saw that we were one of the few teams from Asia participating, so they are very thrilled.”
