Faroe Islands Gold in the B11 Final
Kärra HF faced H71 2 at Fristad Arena in the B11 final. Both teams entered the match with perfect records, having won every game so far in the tournament. The contest was evenly balanced early on before H71 2 broke away, ending Kärra's unbeaten run and taking the gold back to the Faroe Islands.
Kärra made the stronger start, taking an early lead, and the teams traded goals in the opening stages against their Faroese opponents. Thanks to several outstanding saves from Kärra goalkeeper Adrian Bergå—including a penalty save—the Gothenburg side stayed level on the scoreboard through much of the first half with their clinical finishing.
As the first half progressed, H71 2 began to take control of the game and went into the break leading 8–6.
At the start of the second half, H71 2 showcased their quality with efficient attacking play and a rock-solid defense. Kärra tried to fight their way back but never got close enough to put real pressure on their opponents. H71 2 won the B11 A Playoff final 19–13 to claim the title.
Alexandur Erharuyi of H71 2 was named the MVP of the final.
– I have a very good feeling right now. This game was close but we won it in the end, he says after the victory.
H71 2 were backed by a large group of supporters in the stands, something Erharuyi greatly appreciated.
