Önnereds HK 1 faced Danish side HEI Håndbold in the opening match of the girls 18 category at the 2026 Partille World Cup. The game was close and intense and in the end, only one goal separated the two teams.

After the match Lindell was told that she had scored the first goal of the tournament. The news made her laugh, while her teammates cheered around her. For her, the main thing is simply getting the tournament started.

– It was great to start playing and fun to score the first goal, she says.

Despite the narrow defeat in the opening game, Alicia sees no reason to be disappointed. She stresses that the tournament has only just begun and that there are still many chances ahead to bounce back.

– It was the first match and we have more ahead of us, so it doesn’t matter too much.

Now Önnereds HK 1 are focusing on their upcoming group stage matches. Between games, Alicia also hopes to enjoy everything that comes with tournament week.

– We’ll eat frozen yoghurt, enjoy the sun and play handball. It doesn’t get better than that, she says.
