France, Romania, and Croatia have taken the lead in the EOC
The second competition day of the EOC is in full swing, and the standings are beginning to take shape. France, Romania, and Croatia have made the strongest start and remain unbeaten after their three initial matches.
In group 3, France and Romania share the lead with six points each. France has impressed defensively, conceding only 40 goals in three matches. The team started with a clear 30-15 victory against Finland, followed up with an 18:13 win against Sweden, and then defeated Slovakia 15-12.
Romania has also opened the tournament strongly. The team won their opener against Finland 24-22 before defeating Slovakia 27-20. On Tuesday, they secured their third consecutive victory with a 25-16 win against Sweden, placing Romania on equal points with France as the tournament continues.
In group 1, Croatia is the only team with a perfect score after three matches. The tournament started with a clear 26-10 victory against Iceland, followed by a close 18-17 win against Hungary. On the second competition day, Croatia solidified their top position by defeating Lithuania 32-18 and also has the best goal difference in the group at +31.
Behind Croatia, the battle for the remaining playoff spots remains open. Hungary has four points, Lithuania and the Czech Republic each have two points, while Iceland is still in search of their first points in the tournament.
