This summer, the Partille Cup was back after the pandemic. 1060 teams from 30 countries created handball fever during a joyful week in Gothenburg. It was noticeable how happy all the youngsters and leaders were to participate in the Partille Cup again. Today, the registration opened for next year's edition of the world's largest youth handball tournament. There was immediately a big interest.
– It really feels good to be able to open up the registration for 2023. We have already received requests from different parts of the world such as Tanzania, South Africa and Guatemala. It seems like this summer's tournament could be really big and the tournament gets bigger the further away we get from the pandemic. The preparations for the summer have already started and we think it will be absolutely magical, says the secretary general Fredrik Andersson.
The first team to register for the Partille Cup 2023 was the Swedish B16 team Täby HBK.
– It's funny! I actually think we were the fastest team to sign up in 2020 as well. It feels good, the Partille Cup is a cup you can't miss as it's a memory for life. It will be the fourth time that we play the Partille Cup and it only gets more fun every year! says the leader Elisabeth Petersén when we reach her.
To say the least, they long to go to Gothenburg next summer.
– We're looking forward to a fun cup where you get the opportunity to both play good matches but also get the opportunity to hang out with team-mates and handball friends from other teams and of course get to know new handball players. If you haven't registered yet, we think you should. See you in Gothenburg! says Elisabeth Petersén.
