HB Skanderborg win their first title of the year

They are the champions of the G13 category.

HB Skanderborg was the most successful team during the Partille World Cup 2023. Now, they have secured their first trophy in 2024. - It feels wonderful, says Emilie Christensen, MVP of the final.

A Danish derby was on the schedule at Fristad Arena 2, where HB Skanderborg faced BK Ydun in the G13 category final.

Ydun scored the first goal, but after that, Skanderborg took over. Number 11 took matters into her own hands, scoring three goals by herself before Skanderborg extended their lead to 5-1.

After a tight and chance-poor end to the first half, Skanderborg managed to score again with the last throw of the half, making it 6-1. The halftime score showed a clear advantage for Skanderborg.

The dominance continued into the second half for Skanderborg, who couldn’t stop scoring, and Ydun couldn’t respond before Skanderborg reached their tenth goal.

Ydun made a valiant effort, but despite scoring both the first and last goals of the match, it wasn’t enough. Skanderborg were the champions in the G13 category.
- It feels really good. We’ve played well throughout the tournament and we did so today as well, says Emilie Christensen, MVP of the final.

After two years of falling short, losing in the semifinal and then the final, Emilie Christensen can finally call herself a champion and the MVP of the final.
- The win feels especially sweet considering how the past years have gone, she says.

Now, celebrations await tonight before heading back home to Denmark.
- Now we’re going to eat pizza before we take the boat home tonight, says Emilie Christensen.
