Meet three guys from Egypt
The team is ready to play
It’s been a long trip for Egyptian side Heliopolis SC, they find it weird to be far away from home but they’re ready to bring a trophy back.
Mohamed Shaker, Youseff George, and Hassan Mohamed are all players in Heliopolis B11 and B12 teams. They are squeezing in a training session at Heden in the ever-changing weather before their first games on Tuesday. They arrived on Sunday evening, tired after a long trip that included a six-hour bus ride and a five-hour flight to arrive in Gothenburg. Like many of the teams they are staying at a school during their time, and they’re feeling good about being in the city.
How does it feel to stay away from home?
– It feels weird, says Youseff.
– It’s good that we’re playing outside with professional players, but it’s not good to get out without family, Mohamed reflects.
The club travels with four teams, and all three players have friends in the different teams. They think it’s nice to travel together. Hassan wants to bring historic souvenirs with him back home. Including a trophy.
– We came here to win the cup! Hassan chimes in with a smile.
