Partille World Cup officially opened in front of over 12 000 spectators
Much joy and happiness when Partille World Cup was officially opened in front of a large crowd in Scandinavium.
The world's largest youth handball tournament was officially opened in front of over 12 000 happy players and leaders in Scandinavium this evening.
– It was an evening filled with joy and warmth, says Fredrik Andersson, general secretary for Partille World Cup.
Last year's opening ceremony was witnessed by 11 538 young people in Scandinavium. Today it was even more people, 12 478 spectators to be exact. And the atmosphere was just as electric this year. It was noticeable that the participants were excited. First, the teams played their first matches. And then they got to top it off by cheering and experiencing a wonderful opening show on Tuesday evening. It was noticeable that the young people had longed to experience the opening ceremony.
The opening highlighted the community and joy that pervades Partille World Cup. The audience was treated to wonderful numbers of various kinds and a band played live. And like always, the dancers performed at a high level. The Partille World Cup oath was read and all 38 countries were introduced one by one as usual. Among other things, we got to see participants from the Netherlands do their now famous dance and the audience wasn’t late to get involved in it. It was a lot of screaming when Sweden was presented, but all nations – from Austria to Zimbabwe – received great cheers from the happy audience. The official Partille World Cup song Celebrate was also performed.
Partille World Cup 2024 is hereby officially opened! Partille Cup's general secretary Fredrik Andersson is very pleased with the outcome of this year's opening ceremony.
– It was a manifestation for handball, which has a bright future. We got to see many happy and inspired young people who spread joy and love, says Fredrik Andersson.
