Skanderborg - one of the biggest foreign clubs
Skanderborg HB from Denmark is here with 17 teams. They’re one of the biggest foreign clubs in whole Partille Cup.
Skanderborg HB is the biggest club outside Sweden together with Fjellhammer IL from Norway.
– It’s pretty cool. Partille Cup is a tradition in Skanderborg, says the G16 player Siri Boe.
Skanderborg HB’s G16 team has started Partille Cup really great. They have won all their first three games against Vintrosa IS from Sweden, Ullern IF from Norway and Clube Jovem Almeida Garett from Portugal.
– We would like to win Partille Cup! says the player Sarah Lanoix-Warrer.
– We want to go all the way and get the trophy. But as long as we have fun, that’s alright too. We went pretty far last year and we have to top that this year. We’re doing what we can and then we’re going to see how far we can go, says Siri Boe.
They think it’s awesome that Skanderborg HB is here with as many teams as 17 and that they’re one of the biggest foreign clubs in Partille Cup.
– It’s pretty cool. That makes sense as we have a lot of teams. You hear a lot of Danish music being played all around and you see a lot of Danish teams. It’s very fun. The handball culture is very wide in Denmark. It’s a nice way to come away. The summer is the time when teams split up. We go to different places often in the summer. It’s a nice goodbye if players go different ways. Partille Cup is a tradition in Skanderborg. As many teams as possible go to Sweden and Partille Cup, says Siri Boe.
Sarah Lanoix-Warrer is happy to being able to participate in the biggest youth handball tournament in the world.
– It’s a great way to meet people from other countries and see how they play and how their play is different to ours, she says.
Siri Boe agrees:
– It’s very fun. It’s nice, although the weather is not fabulous. It’s a nice way to get closer to your teammates and meet contestants from other countries and see teams from different countries play. It’s a lot of fun.
