The teams from Malaga enjoy the Partille Cup: "We will be so happy at the opening ceremony"
Spain has five teams in the Partille Cup this year and all come from the same club; CD Puertosol from Malaga.
The players in CD Puertosol live the dream during the Partille Cup. The players are often seen at Heden, where they walk around in their yellow-green clothes and often also with spanish flags. And always with smiles on their faces. They just enjoy finally being here.
14-year-old Guillermo Gonzalez confirms that.
– I feel so comfortable and good here. I am so happy! says Guillermo Gonzalez.
There is a lot he likes about the Partille Cup.
– I love handball, I really love this sport and I like the organization here. I like playing matches against teams from other countries, it's so much fun, he says.
He only has a lot to say about the city.
– I like Gothenburg. The city is so clean and the people are so friendly. And the weather is so cold, haha. It's so hot at home, now we have over 30 degrees. But it's cold here, says Guillermo Gonzalez with a laugh.
They fell against the talented swiss team HSG Nordwest in the opening match.
– We will do our best to win the next match, says the goal scorer.
A highlight for the spaniards during the week is tonight's opening ceremony.
– The last time we were here, three years ago, the opening ceremony was very, very good. We will be so happy at the inauguration! says Guillermo Gonzalez.
They have a strong lineup at the Partille Cup this year.
– In 2019, there were some other spanish clubs here, but now it's just us. We have 62 people here, he says.
Enjoy the week, CD Puertosol!
