Traveled from Cape Verde to develop with the help of Partille World Cup

Team Cabo's B16 team from Cape Verde has traveled for a full 24 hours for the opportunity to play in Partille World Cup this year.

So far it has been a fantastic experience, say the Cape Verdeans in Team Cabo.
– When I come back to Cape Verde, I will teach children what I have learned here, says the player Paulo Monteiro when we meet the team at Heden.

The journey from Cape Verde took approximately 24 hours.
– It was a very long but good journey. Now here to play. We want to win some matches, meet girls and get better at handball, says Paulo Monteiro with a smile before adding:
– We want to meet other handball players and develop.
The 16-year-old has so far scored four goals in the tournament. He enjoys every second in Gothenburg.
– I love Sweden. It is a very beautiful country. It is not possible to compare Sweden with Cape Verde. Back home, everything is green. Here there are better roads, parking lots and trams. We don't have trams at home. Much here is new to us and we like it, says Paulo Monteiro.

They have played four matches. They won the opening match against German BTB Aachen 2 with 24 goals to twelve. Then they featured in two close matches. So far it's been one win and three losses for the team. But the results are not the most important thing for the Cape Verdeans.
– It is a new experience for us. It's a lot of fun to be here. It's fun to play games, learn from other teams and see the passion here. We learn many new things. The atmosphere and handball culture is completely different here. It's good to learn new things, because when I come back to Cape Verde I can teach children what I've learned here, says Paulo Monteiro.
So far they have learned the importance of teamwork.
– It is very important. We always have to learn new things together as a team, he says, flashing another smile.
