Aiming for a new titel with brother's support

THW Kiel's new acquisition Elias Ellefsen Á Skipagötu supports his younger brother Boas and his team from the Faroe Islands from the stands during the Partille Cup.

The Ellefsen Á Skipagötu family from the Faroe Islands always aims for new titles. With older brother Elias, 21, supporting from the stands, the youngest one, Boas, 14, came to the Partille Cup to defend last year's triumph title.

The Faroese team has steamrolled ahead with four victories and a goal difference of +43 against three Swedish teams and Norwegian Åsane. Their final group stage match will be against German TSG Münster at 16:45 on Thursday at Heden 25.
– Things are looking good, both for the team and for Boas, Elias confirms. H71 definitely has a chance to win it all this year as 14-year-olds, even though the competition will get tougher with each match.

The older brother arrived directly from the U21 World Championship where the Faroe Islands were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Serbia, and Elias was named the tournament's best center back. Not entirely surprising since he won the assist league and was the tournaments top scorer with a whopping 55 goals to his name. After two successful years in the Swedish handball league with IK Sävehof, he will join THW Kiel in the German Bundesliga - one of the world's top club teams - on July 19.
– The journey continues, with new demands and expectations. I can only do my best. Until then, I walk around Heden and enjoy all the handball being played, says the older brother.

Elias knows what it takes to succeed. He himself made a grand entrance at the European Open Championship (EOC) during the Partille Cup in 2019, where the Faroe Islands' national team emerged victorious.
