Brazilian side ABESC has arrived in Gothenburg

The girls from ABESC G14 have high hopes ahead of the week

Partille World Cup is about to start soon. Last Saturday, the Brazilian team ABESC, competing in the G14 category, landed in Gothenburg.
- Our goal is to win the tournament, says Ana Luisa Freitas, a player for ABESC's G14 team.

With its 25 participating teams, Brazil is the nation with the sixth most teams in this year's Partille World Cup. One of the represented clubs is ABESC from Belo Horizonte, which has three teams in this year's tournament. The girls from ABESC's G14 team arrived in Gothenburg last Saturday after a long journey from Brazil.

- It took a long time to fly here. We had to make three flight connections, so it was very nice to finally arrive, says Ana Luisa.

What have you done during the first few days?
-
We visited a museum here in Gothenburg and also went to a shopping center. It has been really fun to meet all the people here and experience a new culture, she says.

ABESC's G14 team is looking forward to an exciting week in Sweden and has high hopes both on and off the field.

- We came here to win the entire tournament; that is our goal, says ABESC player Julia Melo.

Is there anything else you are looking forward to besides the matches?
-
We hope to visit Liseberg, but also just to enjoy the city and all the nice people who are here for the cup, she says.

Partille World Cup is not only a lifetime memory for all participating players but also for everyone around, including the coaches.

- It's my first time here at Partille World Cup. It has been a dream of mine to come here since I was 12, so I cried when we finally arrived. It feels truly fantastic to finally be here and experience the tournament in person, says ABESC's coach.

ABESC G14 plays their first match on Tuesday at 8:00 AM, when they will face Herkules IF 1 at 2 Fristad Arena, located at Heden.
