From Mumbai with smiles

The team from Mumbai brings energy, laughter and love for the game to Gothenburg. – The referees are very fair, says Pranet.

The match between Mumbai and Enköping has just ended at Heden. After a close and exciting game, the Swedish team came out on top, winning 23–19. But despite the result, the Mumbai players are smiling.

– It was fun to play, says Vivan, still catching his breath after the final whistle.

The team discovered handball at school, introduced by their sports teacher. Now, they’re back at Partille World Cup for the second time The international atmosphere is a big reason why they returned.

– The games are challenging but the referees are very fair. It’s fun to play against other teams. Handball is not that big in India, says Pranet.

Next up is the last game of the groupstage, against Danish team BK Ydun 2. But between games, the players are enjoying more than just the sport.

– I would like to have the Swedish weather in India. In India it’s very hot in the summer. I like the wind, says Pranet with a smile
