Get ready for Partille World Cup – everything you need to know
Partille World Cup is about much more than the matches on the court. To make the most of your week in Gothenburg, it is a good idea to prepare in advance – as a player, coach, parent or supporter. Here are some things you do not want to miss during the tournament week!
The Opening Ceremony – the week starts together
The Opening Ceremony at Scandinavium is one of the biggest highlights of the tournament. Thousands of players, coaches and supporters come together for a colourful show with music, dance, the parade of nations and an atmosphere many compare to an Olympic opening ceremony. For many, it becomes a memory for life and the perfect start to the week.
Get your World Cup Pass
When there are no matches, there is plenty to discover in Gothenburg. Visit Liseberg, walk along Avenyn, explore the archipelago or enjoy dinner in the city with your team. During Partille World Cup, the whole city is filled with handball, music and international friendship. The World Cup Pass is the key to a big part of the tournament experience. The pass includes public transport in Gothenburg, entrance to the Opening Ceremony, as well as offers and discounts on activities, restaurants and experiences around the city. The pass is included for participants staying at hotels and schools, but it can also be bought by local teams, families and supporters.
EOC and international top-level handball
During the week, the EOC – European Open Championship – also takes place, where some of Europe’s most promising national teams play matches during the tournament. This gives participants the chance to experience international top-level handball up close. This year, the European Open Championship is for girls aged 16. The EOC matches are played at Valhalla A and B and Kviberg Arena from Monday to Thursday. On Friday, the matches are played at Valhalla and Scandinavium.
Watch the matches live
Can’t the whole family and all of your friends come to Gothenburg? All of our matches will be streamed live during the week, so friends and family at home can follow the tournament wherever they are. Replays will also be available on our streaming platform after the matches.
Our event areas at Heden and Kviberg
Heden and Kviberg are the hearts of the tournament during the week. Matches are played from morning until evening, while partner activities, competitions and meeting places create a great atmosphere between games. On Wednesday, you will also have the chance to discover para handball at Heden – do not miss it!
Mini handball for the youngest players
For the youngest participants, mini handball is an important and popular part of Partille World Cup. The focus is on fun, friendship and enjoying their first international handball experiences in a safe and inspiring environment. The matches are played in an adapted format where everyone gets the chance to develop, enjoy themselves and feel part of the world’s largest handball festival.
Leaders Party and meeting places
For all coaches and team leaders, the Leaders Party is a popular tradition during the week. The evening includes food, entertainment and the chance to meet leaders from all over the world in a relaxed atmosphere.
Finals Day at Heden
After an intense week, everything is decided on Finals Day at Heden Arena. The stands are filled with spectators, music and international handball as the tournament winners are crowned. Even for teams not playing in the finals, it is a special experience to be there and feel the atmosphere.
