IK Sävehof dominated the G18 category
IK Sävehof 1 defeated Skanderborg HB with 17 goals to eight in the G18 final at Fristad Arena 1.
IK Sävehof 1 dominated the G18 final against another classic Partille World Cup club, namely Skanderborg HB from Denmark.
– The title means a lot, says the great goalkeeper Wilma Saul.
IK Sävehof 1 grabbed the baton right from the start and never let go of the game. After 20 minutes of play, the club from Partille led by 8-4. They would then increase their lead even further in the second half. Among other things, former NHL player Kristian Huselius' daughter Nova scored three goals in the G18 final. When the final whistle sounded, IK Sävehof 1 had won by a margin of nine goals.
– It feels fantastically good. It was a good match. It was fun to play, says Wilma Saul.
The 18-year-old goalkeeper made a fine effort in the goal and was named the match's MVP.
– It feels a lot of fun, but the most important thing was that we won, says Wilma Saul.
She is satisfied with her own performance at Fristad Arena 1.
– It felt good. In the first half, I didn't get many shots on me. But the second half felt good, says the keeper.
The G18 team lined up triumphs. IK Sävehof 1 won ten straight matches during this year's edition of the Partille World Cup and were thus undoubtedly worthy winners.
– It's really fun to be champion. We participate every year and it is always a goal to win this tournament, says Wilma Saul.
Although she has participated several times, this was the first win in Partille World Cup.
– The title means a lot. I see Partille World Cup as a very good start of the season. It's fun to meet different people from different teams. Everyone gathers in one place, which is really fun, she says.
The team will now have a nice Saturday night together.
– We will celebrate with some singing, says Wilma Saul with a wide smile.
