Kim Andersson returns in a new role
Kim Andersson has played his last season as a professional handball player. Now he returns to Partille World Cup, this time as a coach.

He is one of Sweden's best handball players and has just completed his last season as a professional athlete. Kim Andersson is present at Partille World Cup, this time in the capacity of coach for Ystad HF's B16 team. He describes what it's like to transition from being a player to taking on the role of coach, says Andersson.
– You step into a new role and it becomes something different. When I was here before, I only had to care about myself. Now I have a large group of testosterone-filled 16-year-olds to keep track of, so it definitely becomes a different kind of responsibility.
But Kim Andersson has not only attended the Partille World Cup as a coach, he also participated in the tournament at the beginning of his handball career. He talks about what it has meant for him and for handball as a sport.
– I believe that this is an extremely important place for handball and the sense of community, you learn so much when you are here. For some, it becomes a conclusion to the season that has been, and for others, it serves as a buildup to what is to come, says Andersson.
When he looks back on his career, he believes that it was joy and passion that took him to where he is now, and he wants to encourage young players to embrace the fun and enjoyment in the sport.
– Try to be dedicated but have fun at the same time. It shouldn't be a matter of life and death. Take your time, live in the moment, and enjoy. It's about experiences and learning. If you feel that joy, I believe you are more inclined to invest the time that is required.
