Lugi HF is here with a record number of teams: "Large part of Lugi's DNA"
Lugi HF is one of the biggest clubs in the tournament.
They are here with a total of 46 teams – which is a new record for Lugi HF. It is crystal clear that the tournament means a lot to the club.
– Partille World Cup has been a large part of Lugi's DNA for many years, says Parman Rodrigo Polozadeh.
Parman Rodrigo Polozadeh is one of the coaches of Lugi HF during the tournament.
– The atmosphere is absolutely fantastic. It's cool to see so many Lugi teams walking around watching each other's matches, it's burgundy everywhere you go. And it's not just the younger teams that check out the older ones, seeing the older teams watching the younger ones spreads so much joy and energy that you don't get at any other tournament, says Parman Rodrigo Polozadeh.
Partille World Cup is important for the entire Lugi HF.
– For example, we have the majority of players from our own ranks, who today play with the senior team, who choose to continue being part of Partille World Cup with their childhood friends to continue creating memories for life. We also have strong traditions where the oldest teams, for example, grill and offer sausages to the rest of the club, this gives the young people the chance to spend time with their role models and creates a club feeling that few are blessed with. For many players in Lugi, this is also the highlight of the season, a whole week with your closest friends with Liseberg and a lot of handball from morning to night, says the coach.
This year there is a record number of participating teams from Lugi.
– We hope that this record continues to be broken every year, not only because records are fun to break, but also because our Lugi family always has room for more.
Olivia Bjerström plays in one of the club's G15 teams. She is pleased with her team's 19-16 win over TSG Münster in the opening game.
– It was a good and tough match. It was intense and very running. It was a fun game to play.
The team captain believes they will have a good tournament.
– We have good conditions, we are a strong team and have good interaction. We are many teams and we have many players who like handball and think Partille World Cup is fun. The most fun is the cohesion and that you are together a lot. You also have the chance to check out many other teams. It's a fun tournament. The atmosphere is great in the association. Everyone is friends with everyone and we stick together as one big team, says Olivia Bjerström.
