The minihandball is underway: "Major tournament handball"
Kids soaks up all the experiences the minihandball has to offer.
During Monday morning, Partille Cup's mini-handball filled Heden with laughter, joy, and activity.
– A wow-factor, says head coach Camilla Skyldeberg.
Despite drizzling rain, there was an excited and cheerful atmosphere that greeted everyone who made their way down to Heden to watch Partille Cup's mini-handball tournament on Monday. In total, there were 73 girls' and boys' teams aged eight to nine participating. The fields, goals, and balls are smaller, just like the players, compared to the rest of the Partille Cup. For many of the mini-handball players, it was their first time competing against against other teams face to face.
– It's their first time participating in the Partille Cup. The girls think it's cool that it's outdoors and that it's a big tournament, says Camilla Skyldeberg, head coach of the Alingsås G14 team.
Skyldeberg herself is a former handball player and has played in the Partille Cup.
– I have shared my old memories and told them about the tournament, so the girls are excited. When you arrive at Heden and see all the tents, stands, and fields, it's a wow-factor. It's truly major tournament handball, and they have never experienced anything like it before. It's very exciting and cool, she says.
For the Alingsås team, the results have been mixed, but the girls are having fun, and that's the most important thing.
– This afternoon, there will be more matches, lots of joy, snacks, and ice cream, concludes Camilla before disappearing into the crowd at Heden.
