Partille Cup donated over four tons of food to The Rescue Mission

Partille Cup continues its sustainability work together with our partners in order to reach the UN's global goals by the year 2030.

One step in achieving the global climate goals is to donate leftover food from our school canteens to The Rescue Mission, which distributes the food to those in need.

To avoid food waste, Partille Cup donated 4,6 tons of food and approximately 2,500 portions of cooked food to The Rescue Mission during this year's tournament. The illegal food went to The Rescue Mission's shop MatRätt and the cooked food went to their activities for, among other things, homeless people.

– It feels extremely good that we were able to get a collaboration with The Rescue Mission, who could accept leftover food items but also cooked food, for the first time. The Rescue Mission and their shop MatRätt make a great social contribution to our fellow human beings who live with limited financial resources. In addition, it is of course significant that we can contribute to a reduced climate footprint by throwing away less food, says Tommy Wiking, project manager for schools and food.
