SG Wehrheim-Obernhain's B15 team cheered on their B13 team
They supported their team with chants and a megaphone
On Tuesday, the German team SG Wehrheim-Obernhains played their first match in the tournament. Half an hour before their opening game, they supported a younger team from the same club.
- We have to cheer them on, that's just how it is, says Lauro Wagner, a player for the German team.
This is the first time SG Wehrheim-Obernhain's B15 team is participating in the Partille World Cup. Their first impression has been very strong and it's different than anything they have experienced before.
- It's really fun. No school, good weather, and great vibes, says Lauro.
- We've never experienced anything like this; none of the handball tournaments we've been to before come close to this.
The German boys are looking forward to the week but also acknowledge that it will be a challenge with several tough matches.
- There are teams from many different countries, and it will be a big challenge to play against them. I think the teams in this tournament hold a very high standard, says Tyler Barclay, a player for the German team.
Thirty minutes before their first match in the Partille World Cup, SG Wehrheim-Obernhain's B15 team cheered on the B13 team from the same club with a megaphone and chants.
- We have to cheer them on, that's just how it is. We want to show that we represent the club, and we have to support the younger ones, says Tyler.
The boys from SG Wehrheim-Obernhain have high hopes for the tournament and high expectations for themselves.
- First and foremost, we want to win our group. Then our hope is to win the entire cup, but we know it will be very difficult, says Lauro.
- My main focus is just to have fun, says Tyler.
SG Wehrheim-Obernhain's B15 team's next match is against Lugi HF 3 tomorrow at 14:25 at Kviberg 15.
