Small country with a big dream

RK Krim Mercator is the only team from Slovenia.

Partille World Cup is the place where all the world's children and young people meet – from the smallest – to the biggest countries. Slovenia is one of Partille World Cup's smallest countries and has a handball team in participant, RK Krim Mercator from the capital Ljubljana.
– We are very proud to represent our home country's colors in a tournament like Partille World Cup. It will be extra special because we are also the only team from Slovenia, so it will be another factor to feel enormous pride, says team captain Tea Pogorelc.

Despite handball being one of Slovenia's biggest sports, RK Krim Mercator is the only team representing there home country in this year's Partille World Cup.
– Interest in handball in Slovenia has increased a lot in Slovenia and it is something we feel very proud of. The preparations for Partille World Cup began a month ago, where we trained together and prepared in the best way, says the team captain.

Tea Pogorelc and RK Krim Mercator took their first victory on Tuesday. But what does it really mean to take Slovenia's first victory and how has the team prepared?
– It is a good feeling for me and the rest of the team to take the first victory in the tournament. We came well prepared for today's match and played very well. The goal for us is to go to a final and bring home the gold to Slovenia, says a satisfied Tea Pogorelc.

RK Krim Mercator F18-team's next match is against Örebro SK Handboll tomorrow, at 16.00 at Heden 10.
