Unique experience for the boys in Odtü Gvo
They get to represent their nation at Partille World Cup
For many players, Partille World Cup is an unforgettable experience, especially for those representing nations where the handball culture is not very strong.
- We get to represent our country, and we are very proud of that, says Bartu Dericioglu, a player for the Turkish Odtü Gvo B14 team.
After a close match, Odtü Gvo from Turkey match against Skånela IF in the B14 category ended with a draw. The team was happy after the match.
- Of course, we wanted to win, but we think it was a fair result, says Bartu Dericioglu.
This is the first time the boys from Odtü Gvo are participating in the tournament, and it is an experience they haven't had before.
- My brother was here last year and played, so we knew it's a big tournament with lots of people, says Bara Mirasyediouglu, a player for Odtü Gvo.
- There are many strong teams here, and it's a great challenge for us to face good teams from other countries.
Partille World Cup is a unique opportunity for many young handball players to experience a completely new handball culture and to enjoy a festival where handball is the focus.
- It’s a very nice environment. It’s a fantastic opportunity to come here and play handball when so many people are around, says Bartu.
- We get to represent our country, and we are very proud of that. We hope we can inspire more Turkish teams to come here next year.
The boys from Odtü Gvo have come to Gothenburg to win matches and aim to go far in the tournament.
- Our goal is to reach the round of 16. Of course, we want to win everything, but the round of 16 is our goal, says Bara.
Odtü Gvo’s next match is against Önnereds HK tomorrow at 16:45 at Kviberg 8.
