Partille World Cup
Ten Years Later, the Dream Comes True at Partille World Cup
Ten years ago, Benko and Matyas Gyongyosi visited Gothenburg as ordinary tourists. Gothia Cup was taking place, and they were overwhelmed by the sense of community. – We told each other that one day we want to give our son the same experience, says Bianka Benko. The problem was that their son did not have a passion for football.
It was during a visit to Liseberg that the family was greeted by thousands of young people from around the world who laughed, sang, and wore their club attire throughout the park. The experience left a lasting impression.
Father Matyas Gyongyosi, who himself loves football, naturally hoped that his son would choose the same sport. But life had other plans. Instead, his son became passionate about handball.
The dream of the international youth tournament still lived on.
When the family discovered the Partille World Cup a few years later, they realized that Gothenburg offered the exact same magical feeling – but on the handball court.
This week, the dream became a reality.
Now the family is present along with thousands of other participants from around the world, experiencing the international community they had dreamed of ten years ago.
– This shows that it's really not about which sport you play. It's about the experience, the friendship, and the encounter between people from different countries. That dream can be fulfilled by both Gothia Cup and Partille World Cup, says Fredrik Andersson, Secretary General of Partille World Cup.
